The Simplicity of Christmas-seen in a Smile As we draw near to Christmas, our orphans anxiously await the festivities we are preparing for them. There is abundant laughter and a warmth of love many of them have never known. We send funds early to allow our staff the time to purchase gifts and prepare the Christmas celebration . We provide each child a new set of clothes and a small gift. Afterwards, a large feast of special foods is served and a Christmas play is performed for their enjoyment. For our 200 children we spend about $8,000. Many of our orphans are still in need of sponsors, but we live in faith that God will provide for all of our little ones. When I see these smiles, long before we present the gifts, I see a joy that comes from Christ rather than perishing things. Isn’t that a sign of Christ living in our hearts? It is the simplicity of being grateful for just belonging to Him. May God give each of us such a heart.
