The Joy of a Contented Heart Greetings in Jesus Name! This month we begin to gather support for our orphans’ Christmas celebration that will soon be upon us. Our children are preparing their letters for their sponsors, many of them in English now. The fruit of their education grows year by year. This month we introduce a new column on page two called “In Times Like These.” We hope it will inspire and encourage you as we live in these difficult times. One of the challenges we face, as you may know, is that our dollar has fallen against every other currency in the world. Even what we normally send is now worth 12% less than just a month ago. I think the challenges we face as believers are greater than anytime in the past 50 years. It’s been 3 years since we took in Tsunami orphans, and this month a request has been made that we take in 25 AIDs orphans. It has been God’s pleasure to ask us to work among the sick, suffering and lost. We could look at all of these problems, throw up our hands and say “The problem is just too big.” But I have found that when we reach our limits, then God does the impossible. Twenty years ago, we began with $500 and God’s assurance that He could do anything through humble hearts. Then, all the Glory goes to Him. We believe His Glory will soon be revealed in amazing ways in this unbelieving world. . Each Christmas, we send about $8,000 to give each child a small gift and a set of clothes. And you know what? They are content—happy that God has given them all they need. Would that the world had more hearts like them. Through you, these children are no longer orphans without hope. He has become a father to the fatherless—through people just like you. We are privileged to be His hands and feet again this year. May God bless you as you have blessed the least of these
