Discipling our Pastors to build Strong Christian Churches Each year the seasons change. It is no different in the kingdom of God. When we began 17 years ago, we did large crusades in large cities. Later the Lord spoke to us about going to places no one else had gone—the remote villages. After each outreach, we would plant a Pastor and build a small church. Now we have more than 65 churches and Pastors in our fellowship. But these Pastors need training and ongoing support. We are now in a season of teaching, loving and standing with them in suffering and persecution. When I go to India each year, I devote five full days to teaching these men—walking them through the scriptures verse by verse. In our country nearly everyone reads and has a Bible. In that country few can read, and less have a Bible. While they are rich in prayer and obedience to what they are taught, they have a limited understanding of the Word of God. In our country, we have the Word of God, but we have less heart for Him in prayer and obedience. Each of us could learn many lessons from the other. Because we are planting churches in tribal regions among the “untouchables”, we know they will never be able to re-pay or even support their own pastors. We could use 40 people to help sponsor these men and their families at the cost of about $50-$75 each month. You will not be repaid in this life for what God leads you to do for these courageous men and women. Even so, I am confident God misses nothing, even a poor widow who gave her last two pennies out of love for Him. All we have will disappear one day. But what we have given into His kingdom out of love for Him, will never pass away. May we each be found faithful on that soon coming day!
