Are you willing to Sacrifice More or Suffer more for these? We live in a time and among a people who greatly desire to be blessed. Consider how many books and shows focus on becoming wealthy and retiring early. Can you imagine how many people would buy a book with the title of this article? Yet, in my private times with the Lord, this is the question that the Lord has posed to me. He has not come to me to tell me how He is going to greatly bless me, even though He has. He has not come to me to tell me how He will enrich me, though I believe I have great Heavenly treasures. His question to me is, “Are you willing to suffer more and sacrifice more for the sake of these suffering in the darkness?"
I believe God has a great destiny for each of us if we will seek it and fulfill it. Yet, it will take a willingness to lay down our desires for all this world seems to promise. In the end, the promises of this world are empty anyway. Only the promises of the Lord are sure and eternal. The small sacrifices He asks of me today will one day be returned as eternal blessings. I find it a good exchange—giving up what I cannot keep to receive what I cannot lose. Praise God!
