A Christmas Miracle--A Fellowship Hall & Conference Center Gift The Need — A Church & Fellowship Hall 3,000 believers gather outdoors (above) in the early evening because they have no place to gather inside. This has been very hard for them in the heat of summer and during the fall monsoons. Mangalagiri, where one of our orphanages is located, has no Christian Church and Christians cannot rent public buildings. Mission of Joy has been adding more pastors and churches to our fellowship as God has blessed our evangelistic efforts. These pastors return to Mangalagiri each month for fellowship, guidance and support. There has been no building that can house them and allow them to fellowship in safety.
The Process For the past two years, we have been praying in India and America, interceding for these poor believers and for our pastors who minister among them. We have been asking God to help us build a church and fellowship hall that might meet both of these needs. A decade ago, MOJ began a ministry to Christian widows. We provide for all their needs and they pray for MOJ around the clock. These widows have been lifting up this prayer before the throne of God for the past 2 years. During this time, we have faced the enemy’s political and physical attacks as Hindus and others have tried to hinder our work. Building such a place would greatly glorify and increase the name of Jesus among the poor.
The Answer Last month, God touched the hearts of Christians in America to help Mission of Joy. The people God touched are neither rich nor famous—in fact, they are very much like you who pray and support our work among the poor. God’s Spirit spoke and they heard. Then, like the poor widow pictured here, they laid down all they had at the feet of Jesus. Because of the sacrifices of people just like you, there will be a Christian Church and a Fellowship Hall where none existed before. It will be a strong building, but simple and unimpressive in appearance. Yet, it will bring gratefulness and gladness to those who gather there and greatly glorify the name of Jesus!
